POKER TIPS
The below basic poker tips are for novice poker players and they apply to every type of poker game. If you are new to poker, you must follow these tips to increase your chances of winning at poker.

The first of our poker tips is - you must be patient when you’re playing poker because patience equals money. Playing patient poker means that you will bet only when you have a starting hand that is good. Good poker players only play a third of the hands that they are dealt. What this means is that you will be folding your cards most of the time while other players win the pot. If you cannot be patient in poker, then you should not play poker! You should seriously think about playing some other type of game.

The second of our poker tips is - your best chance of winning the pot is to go in with a good starting hand - this is probably the most important aspect of poker. You must figure out which starting hands are good and which ones are weak. If you cannot figure out which starting hands are good, then research the Internet or ask an experienced poker player.

The third of our poker tips is - if you’re playing poker online and you’re consistently losing, then take a look at your “Seeing the Flop” percentage (this statistic is available in most online poker rooms). If it’s more than 30 percent, then you will know why you’re always losing.

The forth of our poker tips is - when you finally get a good starting hand, bet it aggressively. You’ve waited a long time to get a good starting hand, so take advantage of it. When you have a strong hand, make sure to bet it aggressively to make the other players fold their cards. There are a lot of beginners who mistakenly slow play a strong hand, allowing other players to cheaply stay in with a chance of drawing a stronger hand and winning the pot. You must force them to pay if they want to play. You need to make them worry when you place a bet - they must understand that it will cost them a lot of money to stay in hoping for a spectacular hand.

The fifth of our poker tips is - the one exception to the above strategy is that you might slow play a hand when you think that you’re holding the best hand, and you want to increase the pot by allowing other players to stay in and get some good cards and call your bets in the final hands. However, do not underestimate your opponent’s hand and allow him to stay in and win the pot. It would be better to win smaller pots or even antes than to bet a lot of money only to lose it all to a player who you could have forced out if you had bet aggressively earlier in the hand.

The last of our poker tips is - prioritizing the way you play is important. Folding your cards should come first, followed by raising, and finally calling. If you think you’re hand is weak, fold. If you think you’re holding the best hand, raise. You should only call when you think someone is bluffing or when you think you’ll draw a straight or flush.
